List #367: Stuff one should do during a blizzard

List #367: Stuff one should do during a blizzard (and corresponding snow-day)

1.Don't Panic
2. Make sure to play outside
3. When shoveling, it is wise to occasionally dig-out the tops of the piles where you've been throwing snow (to make room for more snow)
4. Don't ever buy one of those "ergonomic/back-friendly" shovels: they only way they are good for your back is that they're so ineffectual that it's not worth shoveling with them so you go back inside).
5. Be smart and have Amazon deliver a bunch of books the day before it hits.
6. Build a Fort
7. Watch some quality TV
8. DO NOT do any job related work. Snow days are god/gaia/higher-power's (or a natural scientific occurance's) way of telling you to relax your mind (and work your body shovelling).
9. Drink hot cocoa, or warm chai tea.
10. While you are shoveling, take time to appreciate the smell, and sound, feeling (and taste if you live somewhere clean) of the snow. Today's snow felt silky on the first wade-through.
