A:" Beatles and Stuff"
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - Beatles
Help from my friends - Beatles
Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds- Beatles
Twist and Shout - Beatles
Beatles Forever - EHS Wind Ensemble '9?
Cannonball - Breeders
Cut Your Hair - Pavement
Sister Havana - Urge Overkill
???
Longview - Greenday
Blackhole Sun - Soundgarden
Sunday, Bloody Sunday - U2
Kim the Waitress - Material Issue

B:"This is the Walrus"
Get off This - Cracker
Soul to Squeeze - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Blues Music - G. Love and the Special Sauce
Shine - Collective Soul

????
Higher Ground - RHCP
Hobo humpin slobo babe - Whale
Smells Like Teen Spirit - Tori Amos
I Am the Walrus - Beatles
Amazing Grace - Canadian Brass
Pachlebel Canon - Canadian Brass

Bonus Historical Notes: The first side is Beatles themed for sure. I listened to this tape quite a bit while being a CIT at The Camp I Used To Be Affiliated With. I really like the Tori Amos "Teen Spirit." I think I know what the ??? songs are now, but I didn't have time to listen to the tape again, I only was copying liner notes. Notice that the Canadian Brass "Pachelbel Canon" appears again. "Soul to Squeeze" is still one of the best songs ever.

What's the Frequency Kenneth - REM
Mercy, Mercy, Mercy - Buddy Rich Tribute
Sweet Home Alabama - Skynyrd
Lucas with the lid off - Lucas
?Don't Play with Fire? - ???
21st Century Digital Boy - Bad Religion

Bonus notes: This marks the first tape to use the "Blue Magic Card" naming convention. Many of these songs were also taped off of the DMX. I listened to this one a lot on the debate trip to Fargo/Moorhead sophomore year. I like this tape because it has Del the Funkee Homosapien on it, as well as some standard modern (at the time) rock. It also marks my first Weezer song. The Don't Play with Fire song is meaningful because the debate team had several pyromaniacs on it. This was also a good lawnmowing tape. "Don't" is a really good angry song.

She Don't Use Jelly - Flaming Lips
Loser - Beck
? - Breeders
Pachelbel Canon - Canadian Brass
Edge of the World - Faith No More
Nothingness - Living Colour

note: it also had two songs by the Stereo MCs

Historical Notes: Lots of this came from the DMX service thing, so I don't know all of the names of all of the songs for sure. The title of the tape came from the banned name of an IntraMural team in 8th grade. I tried to translate it into Spanish and probably failed. This tape was listened to quite often on speech and debate trips. I also associate it with the book "Sphere" by Michael Crichton

List #367: Stuff one should do during a blizzard

List #367: Stuff one should do during a blizzard (and corresponding snow-day)

1.Don't Panic
2. Make sure to play outside
3. When shoveling, it is wise to occasionally dig-out the tops of the piles where you've been throwing snow (to make room for more snow)
4. Don't ever buy one of those "ergonomic/back-friendly" shovels: they only way they are good for your back is that they're so ineffectual that it's not worth shoveling with them so you go back inside).
5. Be smart and have Amazon deliver a bunch of books the day before it hits.
6. Build a Fort
7. Watch some quality TV
8. DO NOT do any job related work. Snow days are god/gaia/higher-power's (or a natural scientific occurance's) way of telling you to relax your mind (and work your body shovelling).
9. Drink hot cocoa, or warm chai tea.
10. While you are shoveling, take time to appreciate the smell, and sound, feeling (and taste if you live somewhere clean) of the snow. Today's snow felt silky on the first wade-through.
