List #581: 5 Thoughts on Google

1. I love Google Earth
2. While I love all of their services, I'm occasionally afraid that they are Big Brother
3. It's not a replacement for librarians or libraries, and I want to want to punch the world when that gets tossed around
4. I like when the onion wrote the article about the Google Robots that eliminated anything that couldn't be searched
5. I miss google bombs.

1. I learned a lot, but if I got to do it over again I'd work even harder
2. Some classes were amazing, a few were tedious and brutal
3. Librarians and pre-librarians are an interesting and diverse bunch
4. I'm proud of my degree and it was definitely worth it
5. I'm glad to have a job in my field (and to have paid-off grad-school loans)

1. That the previous neighbors put up a chainlink fence around their back yard to contain their dog (luckily most of the neighborhood kids on this side of the street have outgrown the night-games phase, because that fence ended the unbroken chain of free back-yards)
